Want to focus on your own individual development?

Coaching is a one-to-one relationship between an individual (the client) and their coach focused on helping the client to perform more effectively and to achieve their potential. Although focused on improvement at work, it may also have an impact on an individual's life outside of work.

My approach

I use a solutions-focussed approach to help clients explore where they are now, where they want or need to get to, and how they will get there. I help them to increase their self-awareness, deepen their learning and take action in their lives.

My style is creative, improvisational, and active. I draw on a wide range of techniques during the coaching process, in particular those from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) which I have found extremely powerful in helping clients move towards their desired goals.

Here are just some examples of what we might work on:

  • Gaining clarity about your future career
  • Adjusting to a change in role or working at a higher level
  • Being a better leader
  • Becoming more effective in your current role
  • Balancing work and personal life
  • Managing individuals or a team
  • Developing a specific skill or competency
  • Solving specific business problems

The coaching process

Our initial session can be face-to-face, over the telephone or using Skype and is an opportunity for both you and me to decide if I am the right person to work with you as a coach.

It's not essential to decide up front how many coaching sessions are required, although most people opt for between 4 and 6. Clients who sign up for coaching to deal with a very specific issue sometimes require fewer sessions, others may want a longer relationship where we work together on a range of issues.

Individual coaching sessions generally last between 1.5 and 2 hours and are most effective when carried out face-to-face. However, shorter sessions of between 45 minutes and 1 hour over the telephone or using Skype can be useful in maintaining momentum between face-to-face sessions.

I am accredited to use a range of psychometric tools which can provide useful insights or feedback as part of the coaching process, including:
